How to re-create an English Country Living Room in 1:12 Scale.
First, find an English Country Style Living room you’d like to copy.
We’ve found a typical style modern day, chintz living room, light and airy and bright. Look closely and you’ll see an eclectic mix of old and new, modern, Victorian, Chinese, English and other styles, all mixed together, making a warm, friendly and lived in room. The colours are muted, so that the mix of different patterns, textures and styles work together, to create a warm, friendly room anyone would love to relax in.
An even closer look shows this is not a showroom but a room where people live. There are lots of vases and knicknacks scattered on various pieces of furniture. There are bowls with the lamp on the lamp table, bowls on the occassional tables, books on the rear bureau, photos, bowls and vases on the bookshelf. You can see a large bowl, books, a vase of flowers on a platter and candlestick on the coffee table.
A variety of cushions adorn the seating which is comprised of several different styles.
We’ve put together a selection of miniature pieces to recreate a similar styled room in 1:12 scale.
The original English living room.
We’ve looked carefully and identified everything we can see in this room.
There is a wing backed chair
On the left, there’s a comfy three seater sofa
in the far left rear corner, there’s a table lamp which is sitting on a lamp table
At the rear right of the room, is a Queen Anne style chair and footrest and there’s another chair almost out of visual range at the front right too:
Left of the chair is a bureau or chest of drawers
There are chintz curtains on the windows
A coffee table in front of the sofa
A bookshelf is against the wall on the right hand side
The bookshelf is covered with things other than books. There are photos on the shelves.
And some antique pictures too
more vases on the bookshelves and the vases on the occasional tables
Lots of decorative bowls for the occasional tables
and old books are piled on the bureau at the back of the room
A vase of flowers sits on the coffee table
And the vase of flowers sits on a decorative plate
Cushions aplenty for the sofa and the chairs
A pair of matching mirrors adorn the wall between the windows
There are framed paintings on the wall above the lamp
A candlestick can be seen on the coffee table
And books lie piled on the coffee table too
Non matching floor rugs adorn the floor
All in all, an eclectic mix that works together which you can recreate too in 1:12 scale miniature with items like the ones we’ve shown you here.
