How would you reproduce a rustic style dining room in 1/12 scale?
It takes a while to see exactly what is in the image below and what you’d need to make your own miniature version of this rustic style dining room. This article explores the kinds of pieces you’d need to create this dining room as a roombox or in your own dollhouse.
Lets look at a real life example and see what we need to copy it into 12th scale version.
The easiest part about this room is that we start with plain white walls and ceiling, but then add a wooden beam.
Now we need a colonial window. One like this needs to be painted white.
And a printable wooden floor like this oneDisplay cabinets in white make up the end of this room.
The centre cabinet could be a pair like this.
The next piece of furniture is the dining table. This medieval trestle table suits, without the trestles.
The wooden dining chairs are like these.
Under the table is a huge floor rug. You could use something like this early American style one.
There’s an industrial style overhead chandelier, which is a colonial style chandelier with an industrial piece arond it. I can’t find anything like it, so would suggest a colonial style one like this working one.
And a wall light for the back wall.
Next to add a nice big feature bowl to the table.
There are two cake stands on the centre cupboard.
A large glass vase sits in the corner of the bench.
And a vintage style clock.
There’s a text art print on the wall
A little bird ornament can be found on the cabinet
And the cupboards are filled with curios and china.
And once you’ve got all those pieces together, you have a miniature rustic style dining room of your own in 1/12 scale.
